Carberry out for three more months Paul Carberry is to undergo surgery on his troublesome left shoulder and is likely to be out of action for the next three months. The former Champion Jockey hasn't ridden since partnering a treble at Ballinrobe on the opening day of the new season and today reported "I've had a problem with my left shoulder for some time. It was niggling me at Cheltenham in March and I thought it would be okay after the Punchestown Festival. I was hoping taking May and June off might do the trick and I was planning to be back in action this weekend. "But the shoulder is still troubling me and I was told on Tuesday that I would need surgery either later this week or next week. The problem is torn muscles that will have to be stitched back on to the bone and I'm told I will be out of action for about three months after the surgery."
