Carry The Flag gets back on track Carry The Flag got back on track with Listed success as the Aidan O'Brien-trained colt (11/10) put his Ascot disappointment behind him to land the Coolmore Stud Blackbeard Tipperary Stakes. The son of No Nay Never travelled powerfully throughout the opening three furlongs and, under a strong ride from jockey Ronan Whelan, showed a good attitude to just deny the Diego Dias-trained Brazilian Diva by a head. Speaking after the race, stable representative Chris Armstrong said: "For some reason, he just never fired in Ascot and nothing came to light after. He was in good form since, so Aidan said we'd bring him here and, see. We knew coming here it'd be a touch short for him, but it was worth a go. "He'll appreciate going the six (furlongs) now. He'll probably go for maybe the Railway Stakes, or over to the race in Goodwood (Richmond Stakes). He's a horse that keeps a little bit for himself. He's still learning on the job. He's a work in progress, but he's a nice one." Quotes from John O'Riordan
