Casey out of action with fractured ribs Jockey David Casey expects to be out of action for "a couple of weeks" following his fall from Barregarrow at Galway on Sunday. Speaking on Monday afternoon, the rider said: “My collarbone wasn’t fractured but it was slightly displaced in the fall and I broke the rib under it. Luckily, my surgeon, Paddy Kenny, happened to be inGalway on Sunday and he came to see me in hospital. The plan is to go back to see him in his clinic on Wednesday. “It’s pretty sore at times and to move is actually torture, so I have to sleep sitting up, but it could have been a lot worse and I should hopefully be back in a couple of weeks.” Casey was taken to hospital following a fall five hurdles out on Barregarrow in the 3m Easyfix Handicap Hurdle won by Sharadi.
