Casual work at Leopardstown

Casual Conquest, placed in both the English and Irish Derbies last year, is set to work at Leopardstown next Monday.

The Tattersalls Gold Cup in May could be an early season objective for the Hernando colt, who has not raced since finishing second to Frozen Fire in the Irish Derby in late June.

'He's grand and working very well. He's going to work at Leopardstown a week today, the day after the races,' said owner Moyglare Stud's racing manager Stan Cosgrove.

'He's done well over the winter and I suppose you'd have to think of the Tattersalls Gold Cup.'

Casual Conquest, trained by Dermot Weld, hit the headlines last spring when winning the Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial at Leopardstown by six lengths before finishing third to New Approach at Epsom.
