Cat Retired To Stud

Discreet Cat has been retired following his third in the inaugural running of the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile at Monmouth Park on Friday, according to the Godolphin website.

The four-year-old was suffering his third defeat in a row having started his career with six straight wins, including the Grade One Cigar Mile at Aqueduct last November.

He was a strong fancy for the Dubai World Cup in March but trailed home last of the seven runners.

He was found to be suffering with an abscess afterwards and did not return to action until the Vosburgh Stakes at Belmont in September.

Sheikh Mohammed's operation have also announced the retirement of Echo Of Light, four times a Group Three winner and successful in last year's Group Two Prix Daniel Wildenstein at Longchamp.
