A maximum field of 23 runners has been declared for Saturday's Betfair Hurdle at Newbury.

There are two runners from Ireland in the Gordon Elliott-trained Cause Of Causes and Eddie Harty's Princeton Plains.

The improving Cause Of Causes will be bidding for a hat-trick and his second big pot of the season having landed the Labroke Hurdle at Ascot before Christmas.

The JP McManus-owned Princeton Plains is set to re-oppose, having finished sixth in the Ladbdroke.

The original top-weight Petit Robin has stood his ground ensuring that stablemate and leading fancy My Tent Or Yours shoulders just 11-2 and that this week's market mover Swing Bowler is set to carry just 10-1.

Her jockey, Timmy Murphy can ride at 10-0 and will be keen to continue the partnership with the David Johnson owned mare who is unbeaten in five starts under Rules.

David Pipe is also set to be represented by Ronaldo Des Mottes and Home Run who is due to run at Taunton on Thursday.

Nicky Henderson has also put a strong team together with Punjabi, Cash And Go, Lyvius and First In The Queue joining the aforementioned My Tent Or Yours and Petit Robin.

Paul Nicholls has declared Pearl Swan, Dark Lover and four year old Caid Du Berlais.
