Central Back In The Groove

Grand Central got off the mark for the season when he ran out a comfortable winner of the Vodafone Perfect Fit 30 Race at Leopardstown last night.

The Aidan O´Brien-trained colt, beaten four times this campaign including when only ninth in the Vodafone Derby, was sent off an uneasy 4-6 favourite for the 10-furlong contest.

Seamus Heffernan gave him a positive ride, settling close to the pace set by Multazem before kicking on as the four-strong field turned into the straight.

Grand Central was never in danger thereafter and was driven out to beat Valentina Guest by two and a half lengths.
