Trainer Laura Hourigan won with consecutive runners today as her 33/1 outsider Notforalongtime overcame poor form figures to claim a tenth career success in Dundalk’s Christmas Party Nights At Dundalk Stadium Handicap.

Notforalongtime carried form of ‘050000’ into today’s race having disappointed since a previous success in February and today, under champion apprentice Wayne Hassett, was held up off the pace in rear. Hassett made headway entering the straight and having led inside the final furlong, the pair scored an all-out short head win from Moyassr .

Hourigan, daughter of retired trainer Michael Hourigan, was following up Friday’s success with Unterberg and led up her winner, with Hassett stating "Laura is doing very well with the few horses she has and I won on Unterberg for her last week.

“This horse had a good draw and there were plenty of forward-going horses, so our plan was just to follow away and see what happens. The cheekpieces helped today and it worked out lovely.

"He knows how to win and is a genuine sort of a horse. He'll win up here again, he just needed to come down the weights.”
