Jack Kennedy takes a break from the top-class action at Aintree today for five rides at Wexford as he bids to secure a second Irish jump jockeys’ championship.

Kennedy won the title two years ago and is currently seven clear of Darragh O’Keeffe (97-90) with reigning champion Paul Townend on the 83-winner mark.

The Kerry-born rider teamed up with Gordon Elliott for a Grade 1 double at Aintree yesterday with Brighterdaysahead and Mange Tout and the pair have another couple of strong contenders at Wexford with Dunleer Crystal (3.45pm) and Agameoftwohalves (5.28).

The championship leader teams up with local trainer Colin Bowe aboard top weight The Great Nudie in the Tomcoole Farm Novice Handicap Chase at 6.03, while the Eamon Delany-trained Accustomed also has strong claims at 4.55.

Kennedy also partners Watch The Weather for Ray Cody in the featured BOYLE Sports Supporting Irish Racing Veterans Handicap Chase at 6.38, and will return to Aintree tomorrow where his five rides include Gerri Colombe in the Randox Grand National.
