Chance Another One makes winning start to life over fences The Emmet Mullins trained Chance Another One made a winning debut over fences when staying on strongly under Donagh Meyler to land the Corrib Oil Beginners Chase at Ballinrobe. A winner on his first start for the stable here in July, the six-year-old subsequently finished runner-up in a stronger contest at the Galway festival. Having his introduction to chasing this evening, the former point-to-point winner was prominent throughout before taking over in front two out. Keeping on well from the back of the last, the gelding beat Nastya by two-and-three-quarter lengths. “He had us in doubt during the week schooling but he didn’t put a foot wrong there today. He was very good,” said Meyler. “I schooled him twice and he was sticky the first time but sharpened up a little bit. I suppose it’s a long time since he jumped those obstacles. “He travelled and jumped. There was a bit of pace on with the Fahey’s horse (Iamagetaway) and Philip Byrnes in front. It was nice to get a lead first time over fences. “Off that his future is probably over fences but we’ll see what the boss man has to say.” Additional reporting by Donagh Meyler
