Chandler Target For Fundamentalist

Nigel Twiston-Davies is hoping for an improved showing from Fundamentalist when he tackles the Victor Chandler Chase at Cheltenham on January 28.

The well-regarded eight-year-old beat just one home on his return from a long lay-off in the skybet.com Castleford Chase at Wetherby over Christmas.

'Fundamentalist is fine, it was just the ground that caught him out at Wetherby,' the trainer said.

'He´ll go for the Victor Chandler and I think you´ll see him run much better.'

The Naunton handler also had news of stablemate Ollie Magern, who finished sixth of the nine runners in the Stan James King George VI Chase at Sandown on Boxing Day and is set to reappear on the same card.

'Ollie Magern is in good form. He´ll go for the Letheby & Christopher Chase (formerly the Pillar Chase) and then we´ll see what happens after that.'
