Chaperoned ready for step-up

Jessica Harrington is not concerned about pitching Chaperoned into Grade One company for Sunday's Spring Juvenile Hurdle at Leopardstown.

The daughter of High Chaparral is still winless after two starts over obstacles but her trainer saw enough in her recent staying-on third at Punchestown to suggest she will be up to the task this weekend.

"She's definitely going to run. She's already Grade Three placed and was a little bit unlucky in Punchestown last time," said Harrington.

"I think in another 20 yards she'd have probably won as she was finishing really well.

"She should appreciate the slightly better ground it looks like we might get this weekend and hopefully that will enable it to be a true run race as well."

Chaperoned is one of 11 remaining entries in the two-mile contest, with Unaccompanied a fascinating possible runner for Dermot Weld.

Pat Flynn looks set to saddle recent Thurles winner Louisville Lip, while Pena Dorada and Indian Daudaie could make the journey from Britain.
