Character Waits On Weather

John Quinn is waiting for the rains to arrive before taking the wraps off Character Building.

The grey finished a close second to Butler's Cabin in the four-mile-one-furlong National Hunt Chase at Cheltenham in March, and will be aimed at some major staying handicaps this season.

'I'm looking forward to him but we don't really know where he'll go yet,' Quinn said.

'First of all we need rain and he's in the Hennessy, but there's all those sorts of races open.

'In an ideal world you'd maybe like a run first but I don't think we're going to get a chance now as the ground is very dry and the races aren't there.

'I'll put him in the Welsh National and there's the Becher too. The owner and I will talk about that as I don't know if he has enough experience yet.

'Hopefully he'll have a run or two before Christmas and then wouldn't do a lot in January. We'd then look at aiming him for all the decent staying chases in the spring.'
