Charles' Hill is not too Shabby at all Sent off fourth choice in the market at 11/2, Shabby Hill outstayed rivals to land Navan's five-runner Irish Stallion Farms EBF Novice Hurdle over just short of two miles, seven furlongs. Pushed along in fourth after the second-last, the seven-year-old moved into third but still seemed to have plenty to do on the approach to the last as Timesareachanging and Kalypso'chance battled for supremacy. On the final climb, though, it was Shabby Hill who finished best to beat the former by half a length. The son of Kalanisi, a maiden winner at Punchestown on his previous start, is trained for Peter Macklin by Charles Byrnes who said "He stayed on great, he is a brilliant jumper. "He (jockey Philip Byrnes) kept rowing away, I'd say the ones in front stopped. He got a lovely lead. "We didn't know what to expect, so it was a pleasant surprise. You could see him over three miles, he will make a nice chaser. "We'll get him home and we'll see where next, he wants a bit of cut." Additional reporting by Michael Graham
