Charlie gambled for Sligo debut Aupcharlie has been a major market mover for the Cleveragh INH Flat Race, the 8.10 at Sligo this evening. From the Bessbrook, County Down yard of Pat Collins, this son of Daliapour is due to be partnered for his debut effort by Jason McKeown. He is a brother to French Grade 3 winning hurdler, La Grande Dame and he is a half-brother to a couple of winners including useful hurdler/chaser Lirfox. In the ownership of Gerard Boyle, Aupcharlie has been shortened to as low as 11/8 in a place from as big as 20s. The same stable's Gentle Jim was the subject of a similar big market move when he made his first appearance, that being in a bumper at Stratford last September. He could only manage sixth on that occasion under Andrew Thornton. After another outing for Collins, Gentle Jim was subsequently sold to Philip Rothwell for small money and he has achieved little in the interim.
