Cheltenham card subject to inspection This afternoon's meeting at Cheltenham is in doubt after heavy rain overnight left the track waterlogged in places. Officials at Prestbury Park were expecting showers from Friday evening into Saturday morning, but more rain fell than anticipated and at 7am the course was deemed unraceable by clerk of the course Simon Claisse. Claisse has announced an official inspection for 10am and admits conditions need to improve if racing is to go ahead. "We had double the amount of rain we were expecting and the track is heavy, waterlogged in places," said Claisse. "The outlook remains dry, so we'll see where we are after another three hours. "We couldn't race as we speak, so we need some improvement."
