There were plenty of horses with stamina doubts that contested the Morris DIY Rated Race over 1m4f in Tramore and it was Chica Guerrera (11/2) who allayed any fears.

She went on from the field in the final quarter of a mile and was well in charge in the home straight. Enziya who didn't have stamina question marks, was on and off the bridle throughout, but finished well for second without landing a glove on the inner.

There was two and a-quarter lengths between the winner and the runner-up with almost five back to Boyne Valley in third at 11/1.

Mark Fahey: "It's the owners local track, we are delighted to be here and delighted to get the win. This is going to be like Cheltenham for them. I'm sure plenty of them will stay around to celebrate.

"We were chancing her with the trip because it's their local track and we didn't know whether she was going to handle it.

"We were disappointed in Galway where we thought she'd run much better, but things just didn't go right there. She showed today that she's half decent.

"She could have a career over hurdles as well, but we'll stick in her grade for the moment and see how far she goes.

"It's great to get today, that's the most important thing."

Joe Kearns added: "I'm a Mooncoin man. There is actually eight in the syndicate and sure we are only a few miles out the road, so there is a big gang of us here. I've been coming here since I was three or four and I'm 40 now, so to have a horse winning here is just brilliant.

"Leigh is a top man. Mark phoned me during the week asking who would we get to ride her and we both said Leigh Roche straightaway. He's brilliant here and has had winners with Dermot Weld here over the years."
