Clonbury Bridge continues Dempsey's good run Clonbury Bridge (10/1) provided trainer Philip Dempsey with his third winner in three days when landing the IFM Ltd Supporting Louth GAA Handicap Chase at Fairyhouse. Keith Donoghue had the nine-year-old on the front end throughout and he went away from Western Model after the second-last. Market leader Midnight Moonshine came with a challenge at the last but could find no more on the run-in and Western Model came back for second place, a length and a half behind the winner. The winner had also won here in January and was recording his sixth win in total. Dempsey said: “That was great, he jumped from fence to fence. We were delighted with him. “A good man, John Bergin, was buried yesterday, a brother of one of the syndicate members. He was very good to us when we were young, he had 13 winners himself in his day and was a big dog man in the end. “He’ll mix and match it. He’s been a great horse for the lads (CJ & T Syndicate), they are local and friends of mine. “I think that was the first time we’ve run him over three miles (over fences). He’s such a quiet horse and everyone loves him around the yard.” Additional reporting by Gary Carson
