Clondinnery out for season

Clondinnery, winner of two starts from five outings, including the Listed Galtee Rochestown Stakes at Cork will miss the remainder of the campaign following a setback.

Ger Lyons reported of his charge on Facebook: "Our star 2yr old Clondinery has met with a setback & will be out till next season. It's a hard blow for the team here but this is horse racing & no one said it would be easy!"

Clondinnery (rated 106) last appeared in the Group 2 Ladbrokes.com Railway Stakes at the Curragh on June 27th. On that occasion he finished a creditable third, beaten a short head and a neck behind Formosina and Samuel Morse.

The Choisir colt was due to make his next apperance in the Group 3 Tyros Stakes at Leopardstown on Thursday but will now not be fulfilling that engagement.
