Today’s meeting at Clonmel goes ahead as the County Tipperary track was found to be fit for racing following an 8am precautionary inspection.

An eight-race card has been reduced to six hurdle races as the chase course is unfit for racing, and the action gets underway at 12.49pm.

Clerk of the Course Paul Moloney said this morning, “We’ve had a further 4mm of rain overnight and it is raining at present with the forecast suggesting we could get another 5mm of rain throughout the day.

“Unfortunately, we had to make the call on cancelling the two chase races yesterday, but we have fresh ground on the hurdle track and we are good to go there.

“The ground remains heavy.”
