Coen at double aboard Punk Poet Punk Poet got back to winning ways in Division 2 of the Irishinjuredjockeys.com Handicap over a mile in Dundalk to bring up a double for Ben Coen. The 3/1 shot raced prominently and led after a furlong and a-half. He was still at the head of affairs racing to the final furlong, however, Sierra De Gredos (13/8f) looked a big danger as he threw down his challenge inside the furlong pole. Punk Poet wasn't for passing, though, and toughed it out by a neck with Colugo three and a-half lengths away in third at 28/1. Eddie Lynam said: "He's getting on and I love him and I didn't want anything to happen to him but as Ben says he enjoys his racing. He tries hard. "They went good fractions I'd say to do it (lead). He was 90 something (rating) at one stage. "I'd say I have no choice (to keep him going), Aileen (Lynam, wife and owner) wants to run him. "The girl who minds him loves him, all the staff love him, he's a pet." This was Punk Poet's ninth career success. Coen also took the opener on even-money-favourite Best Suggestion for Andy Oliver.
