Colour Blue had a strong form chance in the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Median Auction Fillies Maiden and she got the job done in the hands of Gary Carroll at Galway.

Those that invested in the winning favourite (9/4 into 7/4) got a fright from the soon to the fore Sophie's World but that one eventually yielded inside the final furlong and a length and a quarter separated them at the finish.

The wayward Tuilelaith came home in third and she did the fourth placed Trikala no great favours. However following a steward's enquiry the placings remained unaltered.

Winning owner Garrett Freyne has been enjoying a great time of things on the track lately courtesy of Jazz Girl (trained by Andy Oliver) but Colour Blue is handled for him by Willie McCreery.

McCreery commented: "It was a workmanlike performance and she needed it (her first start since the middle of July).

"It's good to get the ten thousand bonus (a Racing Post Yearling Bonus Scheme Race)." (DM & EM)
