Course specialist Commander Won recorded his fifth win at Dundalk this evening as the Dermot McLoughlin trained gelding landed the concluding Christmas Party Nights At Dundalk Handicap under Shane Foley.

The six year old son of Zamindar won three times at the track last year and was gained his second success in as many months at the Co Louth venue today, when beating Tirmizi

Afterwards McLoughlin said “we decided to ride him a bit different today and drop him in a bit so he wasn't getting hard races every time he came up here from the front.

“We thought we'd ride him a bit different, try and keep him a bit sweeter, and it worked out.

“Shane (Foley) knows him and said he'd maybe send him turning in today instead of grinding it out from the start.”
