Conditions Could Ease On National Course

Further showers are forecast at Aintree ahead of tomorrow's John Smith's Grand National.

The going on the big-race course remains good, good to soft in places but conditions could ease further.

'The ground on the Grand National course remains good, good to soft in places. It has eased a bit since yesterday,' clerk of the course Andrew Tulloch told Racing UK.

'The Mildmay course is also good, good to soft in places while the hurdle course is good to soft, good in places.

'The soft patches on the National course are by the Canal Turn and on the canal side.

'The forecast for tomorrow is quite patchy. It looks like we are going to get about three to four millimetres of rain tonight before drying up about 3am.

'Then a similar morning before some more showers come in but we are not quite certain when yet. We could also get some sleet as well but let's hope that stays away. The ground could ease a little bit further.'
