Ken Condon is hoping for a dry spell ahead of Spring Feeling's planned return in the Group 3 Coolmore Stud Circus Maximus Irish EBF Athasi Stakes at the Curragh on Monday.

The Buratino filly won a seven-furlong maiden on quick ground at Tipperary in August and signed off with a third place in a Group 3 over an extended seven at the same track later that month.

The trainer said: “Spring Feeling is entered in the Athasi Stakes, but she needs good ground.

“We also have her in the Amethyst (Group 3 over a mile at Leopardstown on 7th May), but I’d rather start her over seven.

“When they have a preference, we have to stick with it as she is an important filly for the owner. She is just coming to herself recently and fingers crossed she will have a good year.

“She has a nice profile with four runs and is progressive. The ground needs to be good.”
