First time blinkers motivated Adamaris to shed his maiden tag at the eleventh time of asking in the second split of the 45 to 65 Leopardstown Handicap.

Five pound apprentice Luke McAteer was seen to advantage again here, riding this nicely supported 13/2 shot (from 15/2) for Ger O’Leary.

The Born To Sea gelding made all and he just held the late rattle of Erytheia by a head.

“They told me to jump. They fancied him and said if I get the break to make plenty of use of him and he picked up nice turning in,” said McAteer.

Adamaris was back in action quickly after an 8th placing at Cork on Tuesday where he didn't get a clear run when making no impression at the two furlong pole.

The Stewards interviewed C.D. Hayes, rider of Erytheia, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found C. D. Hayes in breach of Regulation 10.3.g, excessive frequency. Having considered C. D. Hayes' record in this regard the Stewards cautioned him on this occasion.
