Connections pleased with Sire spin Sire De Grugy is on course to make his seasonal debut in the Shloer Chase at Cheltenham on Sunday after pleasing connections in a workout on Wednesday morning. The eight-year-old will bid to go one better than 12 months ago when he was beaten by Kid Cassidy in the two-mile heat. That turned out to be his sole defeat of the campaign as he went on to win his five subsequent starts, including the Tingle Creek and Queen Mother Champion Chases. Trainer Gary Moore is hoping the Shloer Chase will be a good prep run ahead of his Tingle Creek defence at Sandown on December 6. "He did a routine piece of work this morning and he worked very well," said Moore. "All being well he'll run on Sunday if everything's OK with his blood tests. He's ready to go. "The timing of this race is right looking ahead to the Tingle Creek in three weeks time."
