Connections reflect on Tarfasha defeat Dermot Weld felt Tarfasha could have been coming into season following her slightly disappointing display at Longchamp on Sunday. The Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum-owned filly, runner-up behind Taghrooda in the Epsom Oaks, was sent off the 23-10 favourite for the Prix de l'Opera. But she never looked entirely at home at the Paris track and could only finish fourth behind We Are. Angus Gold, racing manager for Sheikh Hamdan, said: "She looked fantastic before the race and was pretty calm for her in the paddock. "She was in a great position all the way, but Pat (Smullen) said she just didn't pick up like she can and ran a bit flat, for whatever reason. "Dermot suggested after the race that she was possibly coming into season, but I'm not sure."
