Cooper & O'Connor injured

Bryan Cooper has been taken to the Royal Hospital in Belfast with a suspected fracture to his left femur following a fall from Tepalo in the fourth race at Down Royal this afternoon.

The good ground around the country is clearly having an negative impact for jockeys and Derek O’Connor has also received a suspected broken leg after a fall at Dawstown point-to-point in Co Cork this afternoon.

Derek O'Connor's partner, Carol O'Donnell, confirmed on Twitter this evening that O'Connor has broken his left tibia and will be out of action for eight to ten weeks.

Bryan Cooper also took to Twitter tonight to confirm his injury, he tweeted; "Thanks for all the msgs. Broke my left femur so having an operation in d morning also thanks to all the staff at @Downroyal for there help!"
