Michael O’Callaghan has nominated the Coolmore Sioux Nation Concorde Stakes as the likely next target for Copacabana Sands with the recent unsettled spell of weather welcomed by connections.

The Barbara Keller-owned filly has already won twice at stakes level this season but was withdrawn from the Group 2 Tonybet Solonaway Stakes at Leopardstown last Saturday due to the drying ground.

The daughter of Sands Of Mali won the Owenstown Stud Stakes at Naas in May and impressed the following month again over seven furlongs when landing the Group 3 Barberstown Castle Stakes on soft ground at Leopardstown.

O’Callaghan said, “She’ll probably go for the Concorde.

“She just missed the last day with the ground and we’re going to stay at home for now and look for her preferrable ground.”

The Listed Concorde Stakes over an extended seven furlongs is part of the ‘Super Sunday’ mixed card at Tipperary on October 5.
