Trainer Joseph Murphy has ruled out a Breeders' Cup tilt for his Coronation Stakes winner Cercene.

Having finished third in the Irish 1000 Guineas in May, the daughter of Australia gave Murphy his finest day in the training ranks when landing the Group 1 contest at Royal Ascot the following month.

Runner-up in the Nassau Stakes at Goodwood on her next run, the filly finished fifth at Leopardstown on Champions Weekend.

Murphy said: “She’s not going to the Breeders' Cup.

“She changed her coat very quick in three days and when fillies do that there is only one answer. You don’t take them on, you just go with nature.

“We have her next year, so we look forward to that. It will be great.”
