Having landed the opening race on the evening, Gordon Elliott and Jack Kennedy completed a quick double as Cosmos D'ainay easily landed the DNG John Ryan Auctioneer Maiden Hurdle at Cork.

Sent off 6/1, the gelding travelled strongly on the heels of the leaders before making good headway to take over in front after jumping three out.

With his closest pursuer Minella Post departing at the penultimate flight, that left the way clear for the Elliott trained gelding to coast home 11 lengths clear.

Assistant Trainer Ian Amond said: "He hasn't ran for a while obviously but won well, won easy. Jack said he liked that ground.

"Hopefully he's back on track now. I'd imagine he'll just be kept going now after winning there but it's good to have him back on course after being off a while."
