Dash D'or bounced back to form at Navan today as the Kieran Cotter trainer mare landed the www.navanracecourse.ie Handicap on her first start under apprentice jockey Dylan Hogan.

The six year old mare's latest five starts have been alternated between Navan and Naas and having finished 15th on her previous start at today's Co Meath venue, today returned to her best when beating runner-up Gospies Daughter by two lengths.

Afterwards Cotter said “we were a bit lost for words the last day when she disappointed because we fancied her. She just sulks a bit when too many horses get around her, and today she broke a bit slow and we were worried for a while.

“Dylan got her back up into the pace and then she started travelling; she has her own way but she won snugly in the end.

“She needs good ground so that’s probably her last run on grass this year but we might send her up to Dundalk for a race or two.

“She’s progressing the right way and the claim helped also. Hopefully the handicapper is not too hard on us."

Dash D'or gained her previous win at Naas earlier this month, beating stablemate and similarly owned Polly Douglas into second place. Today Cotter added "we were going to bring up the other filly as well, Polly Douglas, but David (Mooney, owner/breeder) wasn’t keen for the two of them to take one another on again. We’ll turn her out again shortly.”
