Cover Up Claims Group 2 Honours at the Curragh The Simon and Ed Crisford-trained Cover Up (7/1) was victorious in the Group 2 Sapphire Stakes by three-quarters of a length. Jockey James Doyle was eager to get his mount going early and, in a late flurry, he passed most of his rivals to claim victory from the Dave Loughnane-trained Partisan Hero. After the race, trainer Ed Crisford said: "He's a really wonderful horse to have in the stable. A high-quality sprinter, who did well in Dubai. Ascot was the aim but he just got no run really, ran into the back of horses. We thought this track would suit him well. I was a little bit worried because there was no rain. We always thought he liked to get his toe in a bit. He handled it super and he finished really well. We'll run in the Nunthorpe and maybe come back here for the Flying Five."
