Strong-travelling Crack On Corrie was a ready winner of the first split of the 80-95 handicap hurdle in Fairyhouse.

The 11-year-old mare travelled sweetly on the outer rounding the home bend and eased past a hard-driven Galaxy Girl after the second last flight in this two and a half mile test.

Mark McDonagh merely had to nudge her home on the run-in to take the honours by two and a half lengths at 11/1. Frazel Express picked the runner-up prize while gambled-on Galypso Clermont (14/1 to 17/2) stayed on for third ahead of Eileens Boy (25/1).

Trainer Willie Austin said: “For her age she's brilliant. She might be slow in putting up the wins but we're very happy with her.

“She always puts her best foot forward. She'll have to move up now, she's probably gone out of the 80-95s now.

“I thought the ground might have been a bit good for her but she seems to handle both types of ground after today. She was very good there and was on the outside where it was really good.

“We'll keep her going this year and please God we'll get her in foal afterwards. If she gets another one of them it will do her.”
