Crawford raids Newcastle Larne-based trainer Stuart Crawford has definite chances of coming home from Newcastle with a winner today from his two raiders. Best Legend goes in the novices handicap chase at 2.50 where he will be ridden by fellow Northern Irishman Peter Buchanan in the two-and-a-half-mile contest. This ten-year-old gelding won his last race at Catterick on January 12 when pipping River D'or by a head over an extended three miles one. He is currently a 5/1 chance in this six-runner race. Another ten-year-old gelding, Ballycarron Lad, represents Crawford in the handicap chase at 3.50. This one is also priced up at 5/1 and has Jason Maguire in the saddle.
