Cristal Clere ran out a cosy winner of the Breast Cancer Ireland Handicap at Leopardstown under a well judged ride by Sean Bowen. Eastern Wind and Princess Rajj set a furious gallop in the mile contest and were picked off by Cristal Clere a furlong-and-a-half from home.

The Harzand gelding asserted over a furlong out and always looked in command in the closing stages as he posted a three-and-three-quarter length win over Karlsberg

John Nallen, uncle of the winning rider, trains the 13/2 winner who had been narrowly denied on the all-weather at Dundalk nine days ago.

Bowen said:- “He’s a fair servant. He was just touched off at Dundalk about a week ago but he’s run his race every day and I can’t fault him.

“The two in front went mad and I just kept out for the better ground. I knew turning in that they had to stop.

“We have an option now to keep running him on that ground. He’s in again on Wednesday and if he’s all good I’m sure we’ll fire again.

“That’s my tenth winner.”
