Gavin Cromwell is set to have Iknowthewayurthinkin checked out after a disappointing end to his season at Punchestown.

The JP McManus-owned gelding finished a tailed-off last of four in the Labrokes Gold Cup to complete a frustrating campaign for connections.

He has failed to reach the heights this term which saw him run out an impressive winner of the 2025 Gold Cup at Cheltenham.

His best effort came when third back at Prestbury Park in March.

"He is fine and came out of the race fine," said Cromwell

"It is frustrating and disappointing and he is laboured in his runs. He finished a tired horse and I think he tried very hard, so there is something that isn't 100%.

"We'll get him fully checked and see if we can get it sorted out.

"To a point, I was happy with his work going to Punchestown, but nothing has shown up this season at all.

"We had him as well as we could, but it wasn't good enough."
