Mogwli was a deserving winner of the Curragh's TRI Equestrian Handicap on day one of the flat season today, as the turf regular scored for trainer Willie McCreery and under a cool ride from Nathan Crosse.

The son of Bungle Inthejungle competed every month of the 2021 turf season without winning, finishing with a Laytown beach appearance on November 1, and today benefitted from an ultra patient winning ride when beating Karlsberg by half a length.

Following the race McCreery stated “he didn’t win last year but he was second and third here a few times and he’s always been thereabouts. He’s for the apprentices in the yard to ride and six or an easy seven (furlongs) suits him. The ground was just lovely for him today.”
