Crowsatedappletart was the subject of support throughout the day and it proved well founded as he finished with a wet sail in Limerick's D Pack Handicap Chase.

From as big as 25/1 in the morning, he was returned at 13/2.

Eyes were drawn to him tanking along on the heels of the leaders after three out. Shane Fitzgerald gave him a squeeze approaching the next and the pair progressed into fourth.

The pair got a flier over the last and landed full of running to surge past Kilmacurkin in the closing stages, The margin of victory over the 5/1 runner-up was recorded as three-parts of a length. Tullyhogue Fort finished third at 9/2, beaten two lengths by the winner.

Michael Winters said: "He finished well to win with Rachael (Blackmore) here in the past and this man (Fitzgerald) 'played' him away today.

"Darragh O'Keeffe rode him the last day in Downpatrick when he said he didn't like facing the hill and today, facing the first, Shane said he seemed to lose his bottle for a few strides. He likes this track, though, and was only rated 81."

He added: "This horse swims in Tom and Paul O'Flynn's place every second day and when Tom got his hip done recently, we carried their horse to the races at Wexford and we both had winners."
