Crypto backers quids in again as Budds' charge relishes slower ground A Bellewstown winner at odds of 20/1 in August, Crypto Crash rewarded his supporters with a 16/1 victory in Cork’s concluding Ballymaloe Foods Handicap Hurdle over two miles. The son of Postponed was dropped in by Danny Mullins and made good headway on the approach to the straight. In front two out, he was ridden out after the last to beat the always-prominent Duce Bigalow by two and a quarter lengths. Trainer Ken Budds explained “The ground rode a little slower today and Danny said it suited, as he felt like a fast horse. On quick ground, we had previously ridden him more handy, but it worked out great today and Danny said he is improving. "Kevin Galvin, a neighbour of mine who has been with me for years, was always breeding from mares but decided to buy this fellow online for 3,800gns, so it has worked out well." Regarding the loss of stable star Anyway in last month's Munster National at Limerick, he added "That was devastating, but this will help a small bit. Anyway will be hard to replace, but we will soldier on with what we have." Additional reporting by Tom Weekes
