The ground has eased slightly at the Curragh following some overnight rain and watering ahead of this afternoon’s €1,250,000 Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby, the highlight on a nine-race card at headquarters beginning at 1.10pm.

The going is now officially good after 2mm of rain at the County Kildare track, while further watering also took place.

There will be five yards of fresh ground available today with the weather forecast to be dry, sunny and breezy with temperatures reaching about 18C.

Benvenuto Cellini heads the market for the feature but has eased out to a general 15/8, with UK raider Raaheeb a solid 9/4 second favourite.

Epsom victor Christmas Day is also proving popular at around 7/2.

The ‘Derby’ goes to post at 4.35pm.
