Curragh going update

The ground at the Curragh is currently described as yielding to soft following a dry night at the home of the Irish classics, venue for tomorrow's Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby.

The track was hit with persistent rain and drizzle from lunchtime yesterday until near the end of the Friday evening meeting which turned the surface to soft.

However the weekend looks set fair with a dry forecast, and temperatures set to reach at least 20C.

The feature race on this afternoon's eight race card, beginning at 1.40pm, is the Stobart Ireland Pretty Polly Stakes.

A high class field of seven runners go to post for the mile and a quarter Group 1 after dual Oaks winner Snow Fairy was taken out last night due to the testing ground conditions.
