DENNIS KEEPS RIDE ON KINGSMARK IN HENNESSY

Kingsmark was today confirmed as a definite runner in Saturday`s Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup at Newbury.

Martin Todhunter`s charge will be ridden by promising conditional rider David Dennis who partnered the seven-year-old to victory in the Edward Hanmer Memorial Chase at Haydock last time.

However, plans have yet to be settled for the remaining Robert Ogden-owned horses in the race.

Dennis` agent Chris Broad said today: 'I`ve been instructed to put David Dennis down to ride Kingsmark in the Hennessy.

'I`ve spoken to David and he`s very much looking forward to the ride.'

Ogden also has Ad Hoc, Extra Jack and Marlborough in the race and no decision has been made on which, if any, of the trio will take part.

Ogden`s racing manager Barry Simpson said: 'We`re going to wait until tomorrow morning before we finalise plans but Kingsmark is a definite runner and David Dennis will ride.'

Kingsmark is 4-1 joint-favourite for the #90,000 contest with Ladbrokes.
