Porcupine Bank showed a nice attitude to down hotpot Noemie De La Vis in the opening Ladbrokes Maiden Hurdle at Punchestown this afternoon.

The 2/9 favourite bounced out in front in the two-miler but was strongly pressed by Gordon Elliott’s charge going to the last flight.

Porcupine Bank snatched at the last a bit, but dug deep to challenge again on the run-in and got on top close home for a neck victory under Sam Ewing.

The 11/2 winner had been third on his debut at Tramore last month.

“He has a good attitude and he tries. He’s very honest,” said Elliott.

“He probably likes that better ground and he could be a nice horse to tip on for the summer.

“He’ll be a grand horse and he’ll win his races in his own company.”
