DOBBIN TAKES SOCIETY RIDE Noel Meade has signed up Tony Dobbin to ride Hill Society in the Tripleprint Gold Cup at Cheltenham on Saturday. Dobbin, currently third in the jockeys` championship behind Tony McCoy and Richard Johnson, said: 'This will be my first ride for Noel and I am delighted. He rang my agent this morning offering me the mount and I immediately accepted.' Dobbin will also ride Barton in the Bonusprint Bula Hurdle on the same card. Meanwhile another jockey booking confirmed today is that of Andrew Thornton, who will ride Or Royal for Richard Lee. 'He really pleased us last time at Ascot, he thoroughly enjoyed himself which is the important thing,' said Lee. 'Andrew gave him a great ride, he is a real horseman, and he will ride him again on Saturday. 'Soft ground doesn`t worry me, in fact the softer the better for him.' In the betting markets, Samakaan has been attracting further support and Ladbrokes have cut Venetia Williams` charge from 7-1 into 6-1.
