A handicap hurdle over two miles, one furlong was the opener at Clonmel and it saw the consistent Dairy Force , six times second in his career, record just his second win.

The 11/4 favourite, trained by Gordon Elliott for the McConnell & O'Shea Partnership, the seven-year-old turned for home in third and went on two out to beat outsider Kome Dans Un Reve by three-parts of a length.

“He's had a bit of hard luck on his last few runs, he's been hitting the crossbar, and it's great to get it done today,” said winning rider James Smith

“He was giving away a lot of weight the last day (second at Downpatrick), and I probably just had a bit much to make up on the winner coming down the hill. He still ran a cracker and he reproduced that run today, so happy days.

“He's always picking up a few quid and it's great to get a win into him for the owners.

“He was probably doing a bit too much the whole way, but he pulled it out well.

“He got a good jump at the last and held off the other horse the whole way to the line.”
