Stradbally-based trainer James Fahey notched a fifth success of the season today as his Dancing Jeremy (14/1) landed Punchestown's Download The BetVictor App Handicap Hurdle under jockey Donagh Meyler.

The eight-year-old's previous win was for trainer Tom Cooper in February 2022 and today returned to winning ways, beating runner-up Gaoth Chuil by seven and a half lengths.

Fahey said "we were hoping he'd do something like that last time at Listowel but he made a mistake at the first and it was game over. It was his first run over fences for a while and he probably just took a chance at it, being a bit gassy. I'm delighted he finally got his head in front for us.

"We had him ready for the wrong time of the year as he wants soft ground - we tried to pick our races with him for that reason. Hopefully he'll kick on now over the winter and give a good account again.

"We'll see what the handicapper does with him over hurdles but his main aim will probably be back chasing.”

Fahey, in his fourth season, added “the season has been going well for us - it's our best season so far. We're aiming to try to get more and more winners every year. We have 18 horses riding out. There's always room for more but we're tipping away with what we have and trying to get the best out of them."
