Dandino can begin preparing for the Emirates Melbourne Cup after taking his trip across the Atlantic in his stride.

Marco Botti was sent the six-year-old by new owners Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock this year to prepare him for the Flemington thriller and after good seconds at Newmarket and Royal Ascot, he won last weekend's American St Leger at Arlington in smooth fashion.

Botti said: "He came back on Monday morning and he looks really well, but he didn't have a hard race in the end. Ryan (Moore) said he won quite cosily.

"He'll go straight for Australia now. Quarantine is in mid-September if you want to go on the first flight to Australia in early October, so it is quite soon now.

"I think he'll probably go for the Caulfield Cup and then the Melbourne Cup but we'll have to see how he takes the travelling."
