Danny Mullins had an evening to remember at Wexford completing a 41/1 treble as Moonunderwater landed the Phelim Byrne Seasuir At Wexford Racecourse Handicap Hurdle.

Mullins' only previous treble came on the flat at the 2008 Galway Festival as a fresh-faced 16-year-old and this was his first treble over jumps.

His parents, Mags and Tony, supplied the two earlier winners with Last Encounter and Balinaboola Prince respectively and Moonunderwater certainly didn't go off unfancied.

The Dick Donohoe-trained gelding, backed on track from 13/2 into 11/2, was produced with a sweeping challenge on the outer to lead at the final flight.

The eight-year-old gelding was driven clear on the run-in to beat Miss Faithful by four and three quarter lengths, with 2/1 favourite Slygufftou another half-length back in third.

Donohoe said, "I always thought he was a stayer. He never travelled today but Danny has the midas touch, and he might go to Gowran now on Saturday. We will see how he is."

Mullins said, "I didn't have much luck here when they went the other way! I was in America the first day they went left-handed.

"I think you will see a better class of horse coming here now and the best horse should always win. It's great to have a treble. I had one before on the flat but this is my first over jumps."
